Ancient Oak Cabin
This small vacation cabin for a remote spot in the Berkshire Hills was cut from some very special wood: white- and live oak shipbuilding timbers harvested before the American Civil War. These timbers were unearthed from a former saltwater storage pond at the Charleston Navy Yard in Boston. The frame was raised with my hand-cranked crane. Designed by Patrick Lindsey, this was another excellent collaboration with Uncarved Block, Inc.
